By backing us now you will get The Presence at the lowest price possible, and you also help pack as many stretch goals as we can fit into the box. We're a small publisher that want to make something awesome, and we need your help to do it.

The Presence is a passion project, representing a long journey of over 5 years of development, in pursuit of a single question: Is it possible to design emotional horror in board game form? 

We have been able to work without deadlines to create something with unique gameplay, high-quality illustrations and a story full of details for you to discover. 

With your help The Presence can be made a reality. By backing now you support our vision and give us the means to provide board game and horror fans with something truly unique!

Can I get it later? 

It will be possible in the pledge manager, but we have pressured the pledge price for the campaign as much as we can. The PM prices will be somewhat increased. By backing now you also support us when we really need it! 

What about retail?

We currently do not have plans for a broad retail release. Our primary focus is the game itself at this moment. The only guarantee we can make is to those retailers who decide to back us right here and now. If you want your local store to stock it, please let them know that there is a retailer pledge option available. 

Why make this game?

As fans of emotional horror, we wanted to create a strategic game that also tells a story of darkness and of human tragedy. We wanted to see if we could create an immersive experience where you feel your presence in the world of the game, and can enjoy the tension and atmosphere together with your friends.

This is a challenging vision, and we are not the ones to say whether we have succeeded or not, that will be up to you! We hope to not only get the chance to show you what we've been working on, but also to help us make this the best experience for true horror fans that it can possibly get.

Please join development by using the materials provided by us and help give feedback. We are looking for play testers, both for the first play experience and for playtesting the campaign. If you are interested join our Discord to learn more on how to get involved. 

Whether you simply comment, pledge or join in playtesting we very much feel it directly, we need people like you! You make us realize that what we are doing matters, that there are others that share this vision with us. We cannot do this alone, we are in this together!

Shipping Costs: All shipping costs are estimates. If prices have changed significantly up or down, we will adjust our pricing accordingly. If the adjustment is up more than 10% we will cover the difference.

Pledge Manager: Shipping and VAT costs are collected after the campaign ends through the Hive Pledge Manager. After the campaign we will email you when the Pledge Manager is ready.  Please read through the Backer Responsibility section below regarding notification.

VAT: VAT (to your government) is not included in the pledge cost or shipping cost and will be charged separately. EU and UK backers will be charged VAT in the pledge manager, based on your country's rates. This tax is based on the full price of your rewards plus the shipping charges incurred, so we cannot calculate it until you’ve selected all your options in the Pledge Manager. 

GDPR & Data Privacy: By pledging to this campaign you allow us to store and transfer your data to our partners with the only purpose of sending you your pledged games. We never sell your data and will not transfer it to partners who are not directly involved in fulfillment.

Other: We cannot ship to PO Boxes domestically or internationally. Due to the size of each package, there is too great a risk of the package being bounced back to us.

August - Fulfillment has started! 🥳

This is an exciting month. We are happy to announce that packages will very soon be sent out to US addresses! Know that you are getting a labor of love, and that we could not have made it without your support. ❤︎💀

EU/Rest of World - Address Lockdown! 🚨🚨🚨

A very important announcement: All EU and ROW backers must finalize addresses latest 31st of August. After this date it will not be possible to change your fulfillment address, so if you are moving during this time, set it to something safe, like the house of a friend.

If you need to change your address: open a support ticket in the HIVE system with the email address you used to back the campaign.

Fulfillment Update 📦

We are very excited and curious to hear about your first plays! 👻 However, until all backers have their game in hand our main focus is on fulfillment. We will give detailed updates each month on the status for each region.

When your package is shipped out you will be notified and receive a tracking number by e-mail. Please be patient, if you have not received a number, it will come. All packages are dealt with in order, and we cannot affect individual orders.

US: Fulfilling now!! 📦 - 1% fulfilled. US shipment left first, a bit of luck in the tariff chaos, and has had the shortest trip to port. Shipping labels are being created.

CAN: On ship 🚢, landing early October. - 0% fulfilled. Canada boat left a bit later since it had to be arranged as a separate shipment to avoid the US tariffs.

EU & ROW: On ship 🚢, landing mid September. - 0% fulfilled. EU & ROW shipment is taking longer than US since it has to cross south of Africa, instead of through the Suez canal.

UK: On ship 🚢, landing early October. - 0% fulfilled. UK shipment is on the same boat as EU/ROW, but will then be shipped the additional leg from EU to UK once it arrives.

The Presence available on Tabletop Simulator! 🎲

We don't think it is fair that the US backers get all of the fun. While we wait for the games to arrive in all locations it was time to do a proper update to our Tabletop Simulator mod. This way it is possible for you to play a game or two in anticipation of the full game arriving!

For a long time we used TT-sim for playtesting, and during the campaign we made our then-latest version available to play online. Since then, the game has seen many many updates to art, and a few gameplay tweaks as well.

This mod features the Learning Guide scenario and the initial version of the full game to play online. It contains none of the campaign or unlockable characters. The vast majority of content still awaits to be discovered on your dark journey through Wrightwatch manor.

Light non-story spoilers: To fully round out Veiled in Moonlight's deck and abilities, and to give a good sense for how the full game plays, a few cards have been unlocked that will initially be hidden when opening the game. If you want to avoid these use only the setup for the Learning Guide scenario.
