Our platform offers robust features for creating shipping calculation rules and customizing VAT/Tax based on the specific country and state/province of your backers.
During the checkout process, our system employs these rules to accurately calculate and collect the appropriate amounts for shipping and VAT from your backers.
Additionally, our system is designed to recognize when a verified retailer is from within the EU, possessing a valid EU VAT ID. In such cases, you have the flexibility to choose not to charge VAT fees, offering added convenience and customization options.
Backer Loyalty
For repeat creators, the ability to assign Loyalty Credits to backers of specific pledges in a campaign is a game-changer. Backers can leverage these credits towards future campaigns.
This powerful loyalty mechanic not only fosters a sense of appreciation but significantly boosts the likelihood of having returning backers for your subsequent projects. It's a strategic move that strengthens the bond with your audience and cultivates a community of dedicated supporters.
Verified Retailers
In the Hive Pledge Manager, creators can designate a rewards level as a "Retailer's Pledge." Backers opting for this level are required to undergo Hive's retailer verification process, requiring specific information to confirm their retailer status before proceeding to checkout.
Only after successful verification do they gain access to any retailer discounts set up for the project, enabling them to finalize the checkout process. This streamlined approach ensures retailer benefits are exclusively extended to those who meet the criteria.
Coupons
Within our platform, you have the capability to generate unique coupon codes, offering a high degree of customization. These codes can be tailored to discount an entire pledge level, a specific portion of the pledge, or even exclusively apply to particular add-ons.
This functionality opens the door to effortless implementation of special promotions or giveaways. Simply email the giveaway winner their unique coupon code along with a link to the pledge manager. As they complete the pledge manager, they seamlessly become part of your backer list, ensuring a smooth and integrated process for both you and your backers.
Backer Support

This system furnishes you with critical information necessary for handling replacement requests. You can quickly see a backer's pledge level, add-ons ordered, discount coupon usage, delivery status, order history, and more.
With this context, you can approve or reject replacement requests with confidence and clear visibility.
Document Management
Our platform provides a comprehensive solution for recording all the information you need while running a campaign. It enables your team to upload files and link them to their specific project, and organize these documents using tags for easy searching and filtering.

Frequently asked questions
How does Hive's pricing work?
We only charge a fee on the money that we collect through our own platform and tools. We never charge you any amount on whatever money you raised in Kickstarter. This means that there is NO Setup Fee, there is NO Campaign Fee. Our fee is based on the plan that you choose. It is 3% for the Basic Plan, and 4% for the Pro Plan.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Your backers can choose to pay either using their Credit Cards or via Paypal. If a backer doesn't have a Credit Card, creating an account with Paypal opens up a lot of extra payment options, like Bank Account transfer, local European payment processor, Debit cards, and even paying in installments using Klarna!
What options for shipping calculation do you support?
Our platform has a robust rules-based system for calculating the shipping cost of each individual backer. It allows for simple rules (e.g. weight per country) to complex rules (e.g. split a pledge into packages of certain weight for a specific state in a country). Our team will help you configure those rules so that it matches your exact needs.
I need help setting up my campaign. Who do I ask?
You will have a dedicated personal account manager, who will help you every step of the way. They will guide you on how to optimise your pledge manager, correctly set up add-on options, shipping methods and ensure you get all of the benefits from all our tools.
What is a pre-campaign landing page?
If you sign up with us BEFORE you start your campaign, you can create a special page within our platform where you can collect emails during your pre-campaign marketing, AND send potential backers to your pre-campaign Kickstarter page to become "followers" so they get notified by Kickstarter when you launch.
What is a pre-survey landing page?
Between the very first second after your Kickstarter campaign finishes and right before you are ready to open your pledge manager so that backers can complete their pledges, there is a time period, the "sweet spot", when you can generate a significant number of sales. Your pre-survey landing page on our platform can help you greatly increase your up-sell without the risk of losing any backers!
