Space-Off started as “the game of basement games,” a hilarious mash-up of mini-games invented by college kids. It wasn’t marketable, it wasn’t safe… but it was absolutely something special. In 2021, we took the best of those games, cut several for legal reasons, and then invented a bunch more in the same spirit. Then we gave it all a goofy space theme.

Born in a basement, Space-Off grew up at Gen Con, BGG Con, Pax Unplugged, colleges, local game shops, bars, and the homes of our closest friends. Priceless feedback, late-night brainstorms, and eureka moments have been a fair trade for every ounce of our free time.

Here’s what has kept us going: we’ve met people who fall in love with this game as hard as we have. We hope you’ll be one of them.

Please note that shipping to Norway and Switzerland is NOT customs friendly.

The pricing table shown above, which is organized by geographic region, is an estimate. The cost to ship your order may be higher or lower depending on the products in your chosen pledge tier and your final shipping destination.

If you purchase add-ons, please expect to see higher shipping costs when shipping is charged (later on, in the pledge manager).

Backers who registered as a VIP before our campaign launched should expect to pay a bit more in shipping if they back the Planet Tier (base game only). This marginally higher fee covers shipment of their FREE Left Booster Expansion. VIPs that back Galaxy Tier or Universe Tier will not see additional shipping costs (in fact, they'll get a $9 discount in the pledge manager, equivalent to their $1 deposit + the $8 Left Booster).

The above prices also exclude sales tax, VAT, duties, and any other fees specific to your destination. To minimize your cost, you’ll be charged as close as possible to our manufacturer's confirmed shipping date.

Import laws and other logistical complications prevent us from shipping to certain countries. WE DO NOT SHIP TO: Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, North Korea, Mexico, Cuba, Central America, and South America.

We will be fulfilling all orders from hubs in the United States, UK, and Australia. Orders from other regions will be fulfilled by the nearest hub. If we get enough backers to justify the cost of opening additional hubs, we’ll do so in the EU and Asia and pass the savings on to our local backers!

In compliance with sales tax law, we’re required to charge sales tax through Hiveinteractive.com for backers in some U.S. states. Also, in compliance with EU and UK laws, VAT will be charged on Hiveinteractive.com for backers in those regions.

We can’t currently provide exact sales tax/VAT pricing, since charges vary based on location, the total price of your order, and final shipping costs. Don’t worry – the full, accurate sales tax/VAT on your pledge will be clearly displayed in our pledge manager and/or shipping manager before final shipping confirmation!

Our Fulfillment Process

We’ll be using Hiveinteractive.net to manage pledges and multiple shipping hubs around the world to handle shipping and fulfillment after the campaign.

Due to the current volatility of shipping costs, shipping payments will be collected via Hiveinteractive.net well after the end of the campaign, as close as possible to our ship date. This lets us use the most accurate, up-to-date prices and pass savings on to you!

Here's how it all works:

Step 1

Once the campaign ends, Kickstarter.com will process your final pledge amount for the products you have selected.

Step 2

Within a few weeks of the campaign ending, our payment processing partner, Hiveinteractive.net will contact you by email to:

Confirm your pledge.
Offer you the opportunity to upgrade your pledge tier or purchase add-ons, if you’d like. Payment will be collected immediately for any upgrades.

Step 3

A few weeks before fulfillment, Hiveinteractive.net will contact you again to:

Confirm your order (again).
Collect the applicable shipping, sales tax, duties, VAT, and any other required fees specific to your shipping destination (in compliance with state, federal, and international law). For international customers, this makes sure your product arrives at your doorstep without any further action on your part.

Exclusions

In the event that we cannot ship to your destination, we will refund your full pledged amount.

Guarantees

We can only guarantee delivery for pledges that are confirmed in our pledge manager, Hiveinteractive.net, within the specified deadlines. Unfortunately, we can’t deliver unconfirmed pledges.

What Are You Doing About Tariffs?

Like a vast majority of board game creators, we’ve chosen to manufacture our game in China. We explored several options, but none offered the same mix of manufacturing capabilities, industry experience, competitive cost, and logistics expertise.

U.S. tariffs on goods made in China have come down recently, but we can’t predict what they’ll be when our games are ready to ship. Because we’re in this together, we vow to split tariff fees with our backers, which could mean an additional charge as low as $1 - $2 (at current rates). If tariffs rise drastically, we may need to pass on a larger proportion of the cost so we can afford to fulfill our Kickstarter pledges... but even at the highest tariff percentages we've seen to date, that number would still be less than your shipping cost.

Any tariff fees will be charged at the time of shipping, and we’ll communicate with you about them proactively as more becomes clear. In extreme cases, we may offer backers the chance to delay fulfillment until tariffs come down.

This decision comes after lengthy, difficult discussions with other independent creators. We believe it’s much fairer than raising our Kickstarter prices. If tariffs are reduced or removed after you are charged and we confirm that the new rate applies to us, we’ll pass those savings on to you through a proportional refund.
