That's why Wild Magic Reimagined sorts wild magic effects into five distinct and evocative Themes, each with a curated set of 100 effects that let wild magic reinforce the ideas important to your story rather than distracting from them.

None of the Themes quite fit what you need? Not a problem. You can mix and match any two themes to unlock up to 200 "bridge effects" that explore the tension between different fonts of magic!

By combining and recombining themes, you can ensure that wild magic feels surprising and fresh not just the first time you use it, but also the tenth, twentieth, and even the fiftieth time.

Not only is Wild Magic Reimagined jam-packed with 700 wild magic effects, but every single effect includes a Weal, Balance, and Woe variant, representing how that effect might be expressed positively, neutrally, or negatively. 

However, while suggested ranges for Weal, Balance, and Woe are available, the odds of each variant taking place are not predefined. Instead, you decide if your wild magic is a boon, a curse, or something in between.

By linking the balance of wild magic tables to a die roll rather than to the number of positive, negative, and neutral effects in a table, Wild Magic Reimagined lets you stop worrying about balance and start playing. You can easily tell exactly how helpful or harmful your wild magic is by just comparing the ranges for Weal, Balance, and Woe. What's more, you can adjust those ranges to painlessly rebalance your wild magic at any time, even in the middle of your session.

Every effect in Wild Magic Reimagined is organized by power level, allowing you to keep wild magic relevant throughout your campaign by gaining access to more powerful effects as your characters advance. 

Since wild magic can always be appropriate for your party's tier of play, you don't have to worry about TPK-ing your party at Level 1 (unless you want to, of course!). On the other hand, when you're at the highest echelons of the game and resorting to your most powerful and dangerous abilities... well, let's just say you won't be conjuring illusory butterflies.

Wild Magic Reimagined is cross-compatible between 5e 2014, 5e 2024, the Tales of the Valiant RPG, and Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition. These systems all share a common mechanical framework and overlap on the vast majority of their naming conventions and rules, allowing players and GMs to use characters and rules from each in the same game with minimal conflict. Where differences exist, Wild Magic Reimagined provides explicit conversion guidance and in-book reference materials to ensure that no one feels like a second-class citizen because of the system they prefer.

In addition, Wild Magic Reimagined will be released under the ORC License to ensure that anyone who wishes to do so can adapt it for other games under the same license, (e.g. Pathfinder, DC20, Basic Roleplaying: Universal Game Engine) with minimal legal obstacles.

Shipping & Fulfillment

The shipping rates listed below are estimates for pre-assembled pledge tiers. Including add-ons in your pledge may affect your final price, as well as fluctuations in the shipping market. Shipping will be charged separately based on actual costs via the Hive Pledge Manager once the physical products are ready to be fulfilled.

Customs Friendly Shipping

VAT

In order to maintain compliance with EU & UK law, VAT fees will be charged after the project, within the Hive Pledge Manager. The amount collected will be based on the total value of the pledge and shipping cost according to the VAT rates of each country.

US Tariffs

Currently, tariffs on goods imported into the US from China are set at 30%, although this may change significantly by the time physical fulfillment takes place in 2027. While we are working to minimize in the impact of these tariffs on our backers and hope to absorb these costs, Speaks & Spells Publishing reserves the right to pass the tariff onto US backers in the Pledge Manager if necessary.

Clarke Peterson has been designing for TTRPGs since he first worked up the nerve to get behind the GM screen in 2020.
