The Last Command is a detail-oriented space combat strategy game, lovingly crafted to simulate the relationship between a starship and its crew. Whether playing as the Federation Remnant or the Sunder, victory hinges on maximizing the potential of your crew and ship systems with gameplay utilizing dual deckbuilding, worker placement and resource management!

At the heart of The Last Command is an intuitive dual deckbuilding system that has players constructing a powerful ship system deck and a second deck consisting of crew members that can maximize those systems potential and provide the energy to power them. Multiple system cards can be played into a ship location, but the topmost card has the potential of unlocking powerful end of turn bonus abilities if crew with matching expertise are present in that system.
Become A Legendary Fleet Captain!
Cards played to your ship remain in play until you attempt to draw from their respective deck and that deck is empty. To achieve victory, captains must learn when to push their system’s limits and when to recall them. If a captain is able to reduce the hull strength of his opponent’s ship to zero, then the battle has been won and glory and honor is theirs!

Greetings People of Hive!
I actually didn't realize people who had shown interest (or of course backed) in The Last Command had not been getting updated here on this platform, and I'm here to fix that! Please know that I will send at least monthly updates from now on :)!
The biggest news is that... wait for it... WE HAVE GONE GOLD! Or in other words, everything is done, and the files have been sent off to the manufacturer! HURRAY!
Next up, the actual printing of the game! I'll be sending another update about that soon, so stay tuned.
What else is new?
I usually use my updates to share something from the game that has not been widely shown before and I wanted to take a moment to do that with you all as well.
How about a little reveal for the Malfunction design and artwork? Compared to the old placeholder cards, this is a HUGE improvement. Take a look!
I hadn't actually gone through and counted all the individual artwork in the game to see exactly how much we ended up with (since we added quite a lot with the Captain's Cache and just in general), and I was actually a little surprised to find out that it's about 100 pieces!
Wow... I mean sure, admittedly, a small percentage of those are essentially re-skinned to serve other purposes (like the Malfunctions above). However, in an age where A.I. usage has become more commonplace, and considering I am a small 1 person publishing company, providing this amount of highly detailed human-created artwork has been a huge undertaking...
Alex Pushkarev (the main artist) has done artwork for several other board games (some video games as well), including a couple that are coming out over the next year, please check out his BGG page here :). I mean, come on... look at this:
Most of you have finished up your Hive pledge managers at this point, but if you have not, or it needs updated with a new shipping address, now would be a good time to do that.
