Sonify Shield is an adaptive sound masking system. Surface-mounted exciters turn your walls, ceilings, and windows into barriers against outside noise. The system identifies unwanted sounds and sends a frequency-matched masking signal to the exciters, blocking intrusions at half the volume of a white noise machine.

Proven Results, 1000+ Nights of Data

We ran Sonify through over 1,000 nights of real-world testing before bringing it to market. Our results found that users averaged 50 additional minutes of sleep per night, with the distribution skewing toward the higher end. The gains come from reducing the noise disturbances that fragment sleep cycles, not from masking sound after it's already in the room. This is the data that told us how helpful Sonify could be for those struggling with noise. 

How Sonify Works

Sonify listens for unwanted noise, identifies its frequency, and sends a matched masking signal to the exciters mounted where that noise enters your room. The result: noise blocked at the source, at lower volumes, with zero manual adjustment. The system targets the sounds that actually disrupt your day and your sleep:

• Ceiling: Footsteps, furniture dragging, impact noise from upstairs neighbors
• Windows: Traffic, sirens, dogs barking, garbage trucks, construction
• Shared walls: Voices, TV, bass and music bleed from neighboring units

Sonify vs. White Noise Machine

A white noise machine sits on your nightstand and fills your entire room with loud broadband noise. It has to be loud because it's trying to fighting every possible frequency at once, adding unnecessary noise to your space. Sonify takes the opposite approach. By placing masking at the surface where noise enters and targeting only the specific frequency of the intrusion, Sonify blocks incoming noise at roughly half the volume. Why Adaptive Masking Beats ANC

Adaptive masking is the better technology for room-wide noise. When you use active noise cancellation (ANC) on a plane, it cuts the engine but amplifies the baby crying. Real living spaces are full of unpredictability, and adaptive masking responds to all kinds of noise, without the ear pressure you'd feel from ANC running all day. Masking creates natural audioscapes your brain finds soothing, the same way rain or an AC hum helps you tune out everything else.

Sunrise Wake Light

Three high-power LEDs simulate a 30-minute sunrise, ramping from deep amber (1600K) to warm white (3000K). The color temperature curve matches clinical dawn simulation research. Comparable brightness to the Hatch Restore 3. Adjustable from the single dial on the base station.

"Is it Listening and Selling my Data?"

All sound analysis happens on the processor inside the base station. No audio recordings are uploaded anywhere. Short sound samples used for classification are processed and deleted locally. No recordings are stored, uploaded, or shared. Ever. We chose local processing even though it increased our unit cost by 18%.

Three Steps to a Peaceful Space

Sonify installs in under five minutes with no tools, no drilling, and no permanent modifications. Exciters are mounted using adhesives that can easily be removed with no marks left behind. Adhesive clips are also provided to neatly tuck away cabling. Renters, homeowners, and office workers can set up the system and start masking noise right away.

Learns Your Routine

The system learns recurring noise patterns in your environment. If your upstairs neighbor wakes up at 6 AM, Sonify gradually increases ceiling masking before that happens, at a rate slow enough that your sleeping brain doesn't register the change. By the time the noise hits, the masking is already in place. All of this can be seen through our app.

What's Included

Every Sonify Shield kit comes with one base station, two exciters, 8ft USB-C cables, adhesive mounting pads, and adhesive cable clips for clean routing along your walls, ceilings, and windows. One base station covers one room. Everything you need to install and start masking noise is in the box.

How Many Exciters You Need

We generally recommend 1 exciter/window and 2-4 exciters/wall. Every room is different, and Sonify is built to match. The base station supports two exciter strings and each string can support up to 4 exciters (8 total) so you can cover a ceiling and a window, two walls, or any combination of surfaces where noise enters. Start with the two exciters included in your kit and add more as your needs grow.

Shipping Details

Sonify ships to US, Australia, Canada, and the UK. Shipping costs will be collected post-campaign through the pledge manager to provide the most accurate rates at time of shipment. Actual Shipping costs may vary. Shipping cost must be paid to receive product.

We started Sonify after moving into an apartment where noise came in from literally every Cardinal direction. We tried everything we could get our hands on, but nothing was good enough. We knew there had to be a better way.

Mandeep, Co-Founder. Former Lockheed Martin component qualification engineer. Currently managing hardware development and factory relationships from Japan, with direct access to manufacturing partners in China.

Samad Tagoe, Co-Founder: Former ExxonMobil engineer. Background in making complex systems work under extreme conditions. Manages operations, supply chain, and marketing.
