Who We Are

Snap Ships® are the brainchild of co-inventors Scott Pease and Jeff Swenty.  In conjunction with the talented designers at PlayMonster LLC, Snap Ships® were launched in the USA in 2020 using the connection system* that Scott and Jeff pioneered.

Scott (Studio Head) and Jeff (Mocap Director) have a background in AAA video game design and production, having led and worked on massive video games for Neversoft/Activision (Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Guitar Hero, and Call of Duty, among others).

Scott and Jeff are lifelong toy and game fanatics and seek to create new IPs and  worlds that leverage the creativity in each of us!  

Josh Derksen is the Lead Designer and graphic designer extraordinaire for all things Snap Ships Tactics. As a lifelong LEGO spaceship builder and miniatures gamer, Josh immediately took to Snap Ships®. When he met Scott and Jeff in 2021 and pitched them a tabletop game in the form of Tactics, it was the perfect fit.

Josh is a master of sci-fi miniatures game design. His first notable project was the legendary solo/co-operative conversion for X-Wing miniatures: Heroes of the Aturi Cluster. Since then Josh has designed innumerable games, including the design of the Star Trek Alliance: Dominion War Trilogy of games. Most recently, he led the design and layout of the smash hit BattleTech: Aces boxed sets for Catalyst Game Labs.

One of Josh’s specialties is developing intelligent automated opponents that enable solo and co-operative play, all of which have been built into Snap Ships Tactics from day one.
