In collaboration with our partners around the world, we're co-publishing Nippon: Zaibatsu in multiple languages. This campaign features the English (Standard Edition and Emperor’s Edition), Italian (Emperor’s Edition only) and German (Emperor’s Edition only) editions of the game. You will be able to choose your language in the pledge manager. Please note that shipping of the German / Italian Emperor’s Edition is limited to Germany / Italy only.

ITALY: Cranio Creations will co-publish the Italian Emperor’s Edition. 

GERMANY: Boardgame Atelier will co-publish the German Emperor’s Edition.

CHINA: Yoka Games will co-publish the Chinese Emperor's Edition.

JAPAN: Hobby Japan will distribute Japanese rules and player aids with the English Emperor's Edition. Digital versions will also be publicly available.

KOREA: HIT Games will distribute Korean rules and player aids with the English Emperor's Edition (there will be a separate pre-order scheduled in Korea). Digital versions will also be publicly available.

Digital versions of FRENCH and RUSSIAN rules and player aids for Emperor's Edition will be publicly available.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The game will only be available in the Standard Edition for Spanish and Portuguese versions; the Emperor's Edition will not be offered.

SPAIN: Maldito Games will co-publish the Spanish Standard Edition. Digital versions of Spanish rules and player aids will be publicly available.

We’re open to localization proposals for other languages and would be happy to offer you the Standard Edition and/or the Emperor’s Edition of Nippon: Zaibatsu.

Depending on where you are in the world, your game will be shipped from the closest shipping hub. We plan to ship games from the EU and/or UK, Canada, Australia, the USA, and China. Orders to all other countries will be sent from the hub that is most efficient for that region.

Rest of Asia / All other countries: We will provide you with accurate shipping rates in the pledge manager. For rough estimates, please send us a message with your country and allow 2–3 working days for us to check the rates. Please note that response times may be longer at the start and end of the campaign.

Unfortunately, there are some areas we do not ship to, including: Afghanistan, Brazil, North Korea, Russia, Ukraine, and most countries in the Middle East and Africa. We may also be unable to ship to countries in a state of emergency or conflict. If you are unsure whether we can ship to your country, please send us a message.

We recommend avoiding PO Boxes. It is not uncommon for shipments to PO Boxes to be undeliverable and returned. If you still choose to use a PO Box, you do so at your own risk and agree to cover any expenses associated with resending the package.

Shipping costs are based on 2025 estimates provided by our shipping partners. We have subsidized these estimated costs partly when calculating the above pricing. Naturally, we’ll work with our partners to make the prices as low as possible, and we’ll take on a part of the shipping expenses ourselves, but prices may still increase slightly due to market fluctuations. 

The final shipping prices will be available in the pledge manager. We guarantee that shipping price will not increase by more than 15% from the estimates provided on this page.

EU and UK VAT is not included in the product or shipping costs. It will be charged in the pledge manager. The exact amount of VAT charged depends on the country.

Shipping (and VAT, if applicable) will be charged after the crowdfunding campaign ends in the pledge manager. The pledge manager will use your shipping address to calculate and charge you for shipping your pledge.

Essen SPIEL is one of the most important board game events of the year, and any game greatly benefits from being presented there. Therefore, we hope to bring Nippon: Zaibatsu Standard Edition to Essen SPIEL 2025, provided production and transportation allow us to do so. We also plan to bring several copies of Emperor’s Edition for showcase purposes — they will not be available for purchase. 

In other words, Standard Edition copies may be available at SPIEL before the game is delivered to backers. Please note that it is not guaranteed that the games will arrive at Essen in time, so you should not count on it. 

Please ensure that you do not use an @privaterelay.appleid.com email address (or any other email address you might not have easy access to) when making your pledge.

In our experience, these types of addresses make it impossible to contact you. This means you may (and probably will) miss important updates, invitations to the pledge manager, and other communications. While we will use Kickstarter messages to contact you, without a functional email address, you may not receive notifications about new messages. This could ultimately result in us being unable to send you the game.
