Kaelora & Kindred Mass Production Underway

2026-07-08 21:15:34

Hello Explorers!

Hope everyone is doing well. Things here at Tangerine Games are going at break-neck speeds but we wouldn't have it any other way!

Just a quick update - Good News. Mass production for both Kaelora and Kindred are underway. We got the issues squared away for Kaelora rather quickly and recently received the updated boards for Kindred that we think is a better solution. Take a look below.

Rather than having all those pieces fit together to form three different sized boards, we made one board for 2p/3p and a separate quad-fold board for 4p so it fit in the box. Look how small it is. Totes adorbs! But it does open up nicely and lays completely flat.

And then the 2p/3p board.

Constructing things this way ensures there wont't be any warping issues that could come with fitting pieces together. Mass production usually comes with some printing deviation so this eliminates this altogether.

I can't remember what all I shared regarding adjustments with Kaelora since the prototypes and How To Play videos, but we did make some rules adjustments that got rid of some "clunkiness."

For example, the Tides (that Eric the moron from Rolling with the Beard consistently called "Moons"), were used immediately and a number of times equal to how many you had in your Journal. Not only was this not helpful if you grabbed the Tides in the early game but it became too powerful/swingy toward the end.

So we added these cool purple stones.

Now when a player acquires a Tide, they place a stone on top so the ability can be used later in the game when it's more useful. Only one stone can be used per turn though, so it doesn't become too overpowered.

We also added yellow stones.

For the Sun ability, you score points for each Discovery surrounding it. Players kept forgetting if they had scored a surrounded Sun or not, so when a Sun is placed in their Journal, a stone is also laid on top. Once it is surrounded, it is scored and the Sun is removed. This way, players KNOW it has been scored. In the retail version (if it goes to retail) these components will probably be flat, cheaper see through plastic tokens.

These are just some of the tweaks we made to give you the best experience possible for both games.

Alright, not much of an update but still a fun one. We are still on target for our initial fulfillment timeline. Thank you for your patience as we are also printing a game called Megapulse for other backers for another publisher and preparing for PAXU in December - our first large convention! If you're going to be there, come see us!

Later Days!
