Monthly Update

Hello Friends!

It's update time! Sorry for the delay. I (Bryan) took a much needed vacation to the lake with my family. It's good to get away and not think of anything for a few days. I still played some pickleball which I'm ashamed of being a tennis player. ANYWAY...

Kaelora and Kindred Pre-production Copies

In May I mentioned the pre-production copies of Kaelora and Kindred were on their way. Well they arrived and look great! There were some issues though which isn't surprising. No one's fault really, it's just how these things often go. Sometimes the publisher is so entrenched with the game we assume the manufacturer knows exactly how we want it and on the flip side, the manufacturer has been dealing with so many types of games they often think we want something that we didn't ask for. It takes some time getting on the same page.

For Kaelora, it really was just getting a couple of the Deluxe wooden components correct. We had some sizes that were incorrect and I made some measurements that were WAY off. It was quite hilarious. For the cotton bags that come in the Deluxe version, they are supposed to be big enough to store all the wooden components, but the bags are so small. I don't know what I was thinking. I believe I gave measurements in mm but meant cm. These are simple corrections and won't require a new copy to be sent out. Mass production should be starting very soon.

For Kindred, it was a little more calculated. If you remember from the campaign page, players added map tiles to make the board bigger depending on player count. The map tiles would fit together like puzzle pieces. While the prototype pieces fit together decently, the pre-production tiles did not. It's because these were handcut. The die cut molds aren't created until we approve the files. The issue with this is, the single copy of the will be different than what is mass produced. So even if we approve the pre-production copy, the factory cannot guarantee it will fit the same way once it uses the mass production machines. This is not a risk we wanted to take. 

So, Brandon spent time creating new files that eliminated the need for map tiles that needed to fit together like puzzle pieces. The game now includes a single board used for 2-3 players and then a quad-fold board used for 4-players. Now we can move forward without worrying about any misaligned pieces not fitting together and ruining your gaming experience. We expect mass production to begin by the end of this month.

While this is about a month later than we planned, we built in a buffer if something like this were to happen. I'm still confident we'll be shipping by September, hopefully sooner. 

Pledge Manager is Soft Closed

The Pledge Manager has entered its Soft Closed phase. This means backers can no longer reopen their pledge to adjust it in any way. If they need to change their address send us a ticket through Hive and we'll update it on our end. If your pledge is still open, you can still pay shipping and provide your address, but the time for that is closing as well and we will not be sending out warnings for when that option is unavailable since everything should have been taken care of by now.

Please keep in mind (and it's also listed on the campaign page and in a few updates), failure to contact Tangerine Games within 60 days after fulfillment is complete about your pledge may result in the forfeiture of your pledge and you will not be eligible for a refund. If a copy of the game is still available, the shipping rate will more than likely be higher as we won't be receiving the bulk shipping discount. If anyone needs clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.

If you have not received an email from Hive, please email me, send a ticket through Hive or check your Spam folder. Also, anyone who has not completed the PM has been sent a DM on Kickstarter. It is the backer's responsibility to check their KS account for communication so there should be no excuse for incomplete pledges. We try to do everything possible to make sure you are informed of what needs to happen so you can receive your pledge. We want you to enjoy your game!
