Production status and photos. Regarding Spiel 2024

Regarding the presence of the game at Spiel 2024

Firstly, we would like to point out the following. In the development and the production of a game, the rulebook is the most demanding part. In most cases, the files for the rulebook are submitted last, and their print concludes the games' production. Firefighters on Duty besides their rulebook comes also with scenario booklets that make the development even more demanding.

Unfortunately, we missed the time-frame to have the rulebook and the scenario booklets ready on time and their print got postponed. This resulted in a delay for the few copies we planned to have available for Spiel 2024, in Essen, Germany. As a plan B we decided to ask the factory to have these few copies shipped to our facilities without the inclusion of the rulebooks, and then afterward we would have them assembled locally.

Regrettably, the situation in the Red Sea has ruined this plan too. Ships with goods now have to travel around Africa to reach Europe, adding about 25 days to their trip from China. As a result, the games would not be in Europe in time to transfer them to Germany for the Spiel fair. So, we decided to abandon this plan too. Sadly, we will not have any stock of the game at Spiel'24.

Delivery for Backers who chose Spiel 2024 (Essen Germany) Pick-up

If you are among the backers who have chosen to pick up your rewards at Spiel 2024, even though the news described above are not encouraging, there is no need to worry. The fulfillment for your rewards will be done as if you had selected to have them shipped to your address. As the fault is in our side, there will be no extra charge, and we will absorb the additional cost. In the next days, we will contact you via email with instructions on how to update your shipping address information.

Important: Do not try to alter the shipping address on your own in the pledge manager because the system will charge you shipping cost.

Delivery schedule for all other Backers

For the time being, we are still on schedule for our initially planned delivery, as the delay described is not affecting the rest of the production. We will provide you with more accurate delivery dates for each continent within October.

Within then next days, we will post another update with photos of the production sample of the game that we expect to receive soon. Of course, it will also be available to check out at Spiel'24.
