    • We worked with our fulfillment partners to obtain real world estimates, however as with any external factor such as shipping, sometimes there are items that are out of our immediate control. Grod Games Gives Back

A Tribute to Our Friend and Fellow Gamer: 

On January 18 of 2024, the same day our team finished preparing our ‘Version 1’ of a print-ready prototype, our friend and fellow gamer Brandon passed away due to complications associated with Marfan syndrome. Brandon was an inspiration for us. He was one of our first play testers, and in a profound way, opened up the hobby of board games with us when we had but a handful of games in our collection.

We would not have worked on this project if not for Brandon’s impact (and often stubborn opinion) about board games. To honor his memory, 5% of profits of the sale of this game will be donated to research on the condition of Marfan syndrome. At the time of writing, we don’t yet know what our costs or proceeds will be, so we will begin an annual update about the donation in our newsletter at year-end 2025. Partnership with Boardgames for the Better 

We first met Board Games for the Better this spring at Long Island Tabletop Convention and are excited to partner with them to allow backers to donate games for their cause.  Board Games for the Better is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that gifts board games and board game experiences to underserved communities to improve mental health, relieve stress, and provide opportunities for social engagement. 

Grod Games is partnering with this organization to offer an "add-on" reward for backers to donate a base copy of the game to communities in need.

2. Pledge Collection: If the campaign reaches its funding goal, Kickstarter will collect your payment for your pledge
3. Pledge Manager: Shortly after the Kickstarter campaign ends, we will give access to the pledge manager. Here you may modify your order, add extras of your choice, and provide your shipping address. In the pledge manager we will be collecting applicable taxes and payment for shipping. 
4. Production Updates: During manufacturing, shipping, and fulfillment, we will send you email updates with the latest progress on Estate: Raise the Realm.

November 2025 Project Update

Greetings from Massachusetts! 


For those of you in the United States, we hope you enjoyed a cozy, joyous holiday week filled with giving and thanks. As we wrap up November, we want to take a moment to say - again, and always - how grateful we are for this community. You’re the reason this game exists, and your enthusiasm continues to fuel and support us every step of the journey.

We have exciting movement on the fulfillment front, and are thrilled to share we are on track to complete fulfillment across all regions by the end of January, and some backers may see games arriving as early as late December. That early arrival depends on a few logistical dominoes falling just right, so we don’t want to over-promise - but we’re definitely crossing our fingers with you and hoping for a holiday miracle!

✅ November 2024 (Done): Estate: Raise the Realm is funded!

✅ December 2024 - April 2025 (Done): Game illustration, component development and polishing

✅ February 2025 (Done): Pledge Manager Opens  

✅ April 2025 (Done): Game Development concludes, final files approved by manufacturer.

✅ May - October 2025 (Done): Manufacturing

✅ July 2025 (Done): Pledge Manager Closed (all addresses will be confirmed once more 2-3 weeks before shipment)

November-December 2025 (In Progress): Ocean Freight 

Jan 2026: Fulfillment 


📦 Fulfillment Updates: 


Backers in the United States: 

  • The games headed stateside are officially sailing across the ocean! If you’re the kind of person who loves to watch tiny boat icons crawl across a map (we are definitely those people), follow the journey here.
  • If all goes smoothly 🤞, the shipment will reach our fulfillment warehouse in mid-December. That means shipping could begin just before Christmas, opening a small possibility of seeing a Grod Games box tucked under the tree. We can’t guarantee it - there are still several handoffs between here and there - but the window is officially open!
  • For anyone who selected local pickup in Orlando, good news: we’ll be arranging pickup during Escape Winter Con (2/18–2/22)! We’ll send an email with details later in January and will coordinate alternatives if you can’t make it.

Backers in Canada: We’ve teamed up with Board Game Bliss to get your games delivered smoothly and quickly. Once the US shipment arrives, your copies will be forwarded to their warehouse. Canadian fulfillment is expected to begin in January.

Backers Around the World: For our international backers, your games arrived at the warehouse in China earlier this month and are already in the queue for processing. Each region follows its own shipping timeline, but we expect to have tracking numbers ready for you in early December, once everything officially leaves the facility. 


PAX Unplugged Recap 

We had a great time at PAX Unplugged - somehow 3 days is just not enough to get in all the games and see all the friends. Leaving the show, Devon now has a new favorite game, Hegemony, an asymmetric, politico-economic, card-driven strategy game grounded in real-world academic principles. My favorite was Propolis, a new game from Flatout Games, that is like Splendor on steroids with a worker placement mechanic added in.

December we are spending time with friends and family before we hit the road again in January and the 2026 convention circuit officially begins.
