Risks and challenges
It’s Probably Illegal… to make a boring Kickstarter, so we won’t start now.
But real talk: launching a game, especially one as unhinged as this, comes with its share of risk. Here's what could go sideways and how we're planning to keep the chaos on the cards (not in the campaign).
🧱 1. Manufacturing Delays
What could go wrong: Factory production could be delayed due to material shortages, staffing issues, or acts of god (or goblins).
Our plan: We've already vetted multiple manufacturing partners and priced out contingency plans. Our base game and expansion are fully designed and tested. We’re also working with experienced production partners who’ve done this dance before.
📦 2. Shipping Shenanigans
What could go wrong: Global shipping is basically a roulette wheel. Prices spike. Boats get stuck. Oranges implement tariffs. Ducks unionize.
Our plan: We’re partnering with established logistics experts and using a post-campaign Pledge Manager to collect accurate shipping and tax info.
📉 3. Overfunding Can Be Dangerous
What could go wrong: Sometimes success is the scariest monster. Scaling too fast can break timelines and quality control.
Our plan: We’ve already planned multiple production tiers and timelines depending on how *insane* this campaign gets. Whether we get 500 backers or 50,000, we’ve modeled out how to keep quality high and chaos intentional.
🤯 4. Content Sensitivity + Public Outrage (Oops.)
What could go wrong: Not everyone has our dark sense of humor. Some people may be offended. Some may try to cancel us.
Our plan: We’re not for everyone - and that’s the point. But we won’t cross legal or ethical lines (even if we toe the ever-loving hell out of them). If you don’t like offensive jokes, absurd storytelling, or fake drugs, this isn’t your game. We’re cool with that.
🔁 5. Creative Scope Creep
What could go wrong: Adding stretch goals and expansion packs during the campaign could spiral into delays or inconsistent gameplay quality.
Our plan: All expansions will be designed *before* the campaign ends. We’re not writing new content at the last minute - we’re just deciding what goes in based on how wild the backer community gets.
👥 6. Small Team, Big Project
What could go wrong: We’re a tight crew with big ambitions. Unexpected life events or burnout could cause slowdowns.
Our plan: We’ve planned our timeline to allow for breathing room and buffer chaos. Plus, we’ve partnered with Kickstarter marketing pros (LaunchBoom) and fulfilment specialists to reduce internal bottlenecks.
🦴 7. Your Expectations vs. Our Degeneracy
What could go wrong: If you're expecting a polished, family-friendly game with an app and scented cards... this ain't that.
Our plan: We’re staying true to our core: edgy, hilarious, and built to be replayed (and regretted). No fluff. No filters. Just questionable decisions and backstabby fun.
TL;DR:
Yes, there are risks. No, we’re not amateurs. We've done our homework, built a bulletproof plan (with loopholes, just in case), and we're not here to screw you - unless it's with a Backstab card.
If things go wrong, you'll hear it from us first. If things go right, you'll have the world’s most dangerously fun game in your hands before you know it. Probably.
