The core product is the magnetic capsule — that’s The Game Capsule! the heart of the system. Frames, backings, and stands are accessories that can change over time. Because it’s modular, you aren’t just buying one look — you’re buying into a system that can grow with future add-ons (new frame styles, colored backings, stands, etc.).

Most card holders and frames are static. The Game Capsule is expandable.

We intentionally designed it this way so collectors aren’t locked into pre-made color inserts and can customize their display however they want.

The Problem

When a card is given as a gift, it is often handed over loose or in a temporary holder, missing the sense of intention that makes a gift feel truly special. The Game Capsule turns a card into something meant to be displayed, protected, and remembered, making it a more thoughtful and meaningful gift from the start.

For many collectors, cards end up tucked away in binders, boxes, or stacks of holders. Grading can get expensive, and traditional frames weren’t really made with trading cards in mind and can damage them over time. Too often, the cards you care about most never make it onto display.

The Game Capsule was designed to change that. It keeps your cards protected while giving you a clean, modular way to display them. Snap it on a stand, hang it on the wall, or swap out the look whenever you want — without worrying about damage.

How it works

Timeline

We’ve progressed from early sketches to mock-ups, CAD, and working prototypes. Our latest prototype reflects the final design direction shown on this page, including the clear plastic components and modular system.

With the design now validated, the next steps focus on tooling, manufacturing setup, and quality planning following the Kickstarter campaign.

Estimated Timeline

January 22, 2026 — Kickstarter campaign launch

Q1–Q2 2026 — Tooling, manufacturing preparation, and testing

Q3–Q4 2026 — Production, quality checks, and packaging

Estimated delivery: Late Q4 2026 / Early Q1 2027

We’ll share regular updates throughout the process so backers can follow progress from production through fulfillment.

The idea for this project started while I was fixing up my gaming setup and man cave. At the time, I wasn’t actively collecting anymore, but I wanted my old cards to be part of the space. Life got busy — I got married, traveled, and the room slowly turned into storage.

Fast forward, our family began to grow, and I felt the need to finish what I had started. The house needed to feel like a home, so alongside setting up the baby’s room, the game room finally got the attention it deserved — and the idea for The Game Capsule was reborn.

I called my brother-in-law (now my co-founder) and told him about the concept. He was in immediately.

I wanted to bring something to the hobby that I felt was missing — a way to display the cards that mean something. I had stopped collecting and playing TCGs, but all I had to show for it were boxes and binders tucked away. The Game Capsule changes that.

What started off as an idea became sketches, then mock-ups, then CAD, and finally a working product we can’t wait to bring to the hobby and gamer setups everywhere. I’m not an engineer, but I was part of the team that brought this idea to life. I partnered with a trusted company that specializes in taking products from concept to manufactured reality, making sure every detail worked. Along the way, I also hired marketing services to help me learn the game — giving me experts I could lean on for assistance and guidance while I focused on building something worth sharing with collectors everywhere.
