🌿 What is Overgrown?
Re-wild a desolate cityscape in Overgrown! Combine water, sunlight, & earth to overgrow buildings with vibrant ecosystems, create specific element formations to attract wildlife to your newly lush city, and avoid the pollution left behind by humanity.
In this verdant tile-laying game, you and up to 3 of your friends are the forces of nature, attempting to transform polluted and abandoned cities into lush paradises brimming with wildlife. Each turn, players gather the elements needed to regrow flora and reintroduce fauna from a shared pool. Unfortunately, the elements are limited and mixed in with pollution so not every city will fully revive.
Unlike other tile-laying games, you control the drafting pool not only by what you take, but also how you use it, giving you plenty to think about as your city slowly recovers. At the end of the game, the player with the most verdant city is declared the winner.

☀️ How To Play
Setup is quick and easy!
- Each player takes a city board and the two matching Auras (selection windows)
- The central Aether is filled with tiles randomly pulled from the Recycle bag
- The Wildlife deck is shuffled and several cards are revealed
- Each player puts their smaller Aura on the Aether
- Put the tiles and Wildlife somewhere everyone can reach them
In Overgrown, players take turns adding tiles to their city until one player runs out of room. Each turn consists of a few simple steps:
Select a pair of tiles from any space surrounded by any color Aura. Some element pairs contain pollution which clogs up your city and makes it harder to re-wild.
Place the pair of tiles on any empty spaces in your city, but they must be placed side by side. Be careful to not leave single space islands in your city in order to keep your options open on future turns!
Move the Aura of your color to match the position of the tiles you just placed. Will you change how you place your tiles to limit your friends' options?
If you recreated any of the revealed Wildlife patterns, add Wildlife to your city on the tile indicated by the Wildlife card!
Combine any adjacent sets of water, earth, and sunlight to Overgrow part of the city! Overgrown tiles can further combine to create Ecosystems that clean up Pollution!
Once one player fills up their board, the game ends for everyone and the player with the most flourishing city wins!
