Another Kaelora Update

Back for the monthly update!

I was going to post over the weekend but got caught up in many of my other many ventures. Okay, so manufacturing was complete as mentioned in last month's update. What I failed to mention was the other steps that have to happen before the freight is ready to be picked up.

Safety testing took longer than I was told as there was quite the queue. We had asked that copies of the games be sent to the lab while the advanced copies were on their way to me, so we could accomplish two things simultaneously.

That did not happen. Instead, the factory just twiddled their thumbs waiting for my copies to arrive to double and triple check everything. Not all that efficient, unfortunately. Additionally, the U.S. is getting extremely strict about testing even when product is only going through fulfillment and not mass retail, so we had to order other tests and that took more time. 

I'll be transparent. $2,000 for safety testing is theft, in my opinion, but I'll refrain from sharing my thoughts on government in general. I'll behave.

After that's complete, games need to be assembled, shrink wrapped, stickered and then palletized. All this takes time. We are shipping Megapulse with this campaign, so a small rulebook hiccup caused further delays. However, this is why we put in a buffer. Things should be good now.

I was waiting to get the final thumbs up from the factory before posting another update as I had said I would once games have been picked up but I had some requests for an update from some backers.

I'm told I would receiving the cargo ready date by the end of this week, so product can be picked up next week. We are technically still within the timeframe we projected.

The factory has been paid, backer lists have been finalized/sent, and we are this much closer to having Kaelora and Kindred on your doorstep.

Remember, there's ship and air freight that have to take place before it reaches your local courier. If you receive a tracking number and then don't see movement for 1-2 weeks, it's because games are pre-packed and labeled at the warehouse, rather than at the local courier's office. This streamlines the process so your pledge comes off the boat/plane and straight to your post office without going into another warehouse to be packed.
