How to play

Multilingual Support

Flame & Forge  cards have no text at all. As such, with just the rulebook you will be able to play the game in all supported languages.

Inside the box the rulebook and dungeon book will be in the English language, but through Boardgamegeek you will be able to download them in all of the following languages: English, Portuguese, French, German, Italian and Spanish.

Social Goals!

During the Flame & Forge campaign we  unlocked: The library board became double-sided, 17 Reaction cards, 8 Hero cards, 12 Starting Allies, 4 Mine cart tokens, 16 spell books, 4 Loot bag cards, 12 action tokens, 5 Mine events, 8 Roaming monster events and 9 more Scenarios including the final showdown, Competitive mode, Family mode and Play as the Dragon One-Vs-All! What a Fantastic ride!

Today's Challenge!? 

I swear some of you have spies in my friend group, because you’re unreal at sniffing out secrets and hitting milestones way ahead of schedule.

Today’s goal was to reach the ridiculous milestone of 1,000 hours of games completed in the digital demo… and some of you figured it out and absolutely crushed it overnight. So we’re kicking off the day with it already unlocked!

The roaming monsters are a new set of more "chill" event cards that instead of generating fire, move monsters around, generate gems, and if you are in a pinch and got to over 7 unresolved event cards, they will only add one fire to the board and then discard themselves back to the bottom of the events deck.

We will be using these cards along with the extra T cards to further balancing out the CO-OP mode for different player counts but not only that, having these cards also give us a great opportunity for the having an efficiency focused Competitive MODE and a cozy Family mode if you are playing the game with your kids!

By making an events deck just of Treasure and Monster cards we can now have a version of the game that still has all the fun of resolving and combo-ing events without adding fire and pressure everywhere, shifting the dynamic completely without changing rules and allowing for game-modes where the focus is on improving your deck and tracks more efficiently! 

Secret Final Goal!

For our secret final challenge… we’re cranking up the heat.

We’re adding 10 more Fire Tokens to the game. They won’t just blow up tiles, they’ll also track special scenario events, power the one-vs-all mode, and trigger spicy Book effects at key moments. To join today’s challenge tell us in the comments which faction you’re most fired up to play.

Meet The factions!

All dwarfs are skilled miners (so you may all play the game equally if you want to) but each band also have its own special abilities. During setup, you can choose to play on equal footing, or spice things up with unique asymmetric powers!

Anvil Brotherhood: can forge using their own board! Not only that, by upgrading both their king and warrior, the Anvil Brotherhood can maximize their turns berserker style by taking damage to take additional actions! 

Tankard Brigade: Specialize in trimming their deck os they can become stronger, faster! They also are better at healing, making them a great option for a more combat focused player!

Nugget Syndicate: gives you more yellow gems, which is great for affording monsters  take gems from you and going up the tracks but it also allows for a supporting build if you make good use of the mine cards and the care-basket book.

Runechart Keepers: If you like improving in the library tracks and getting the legendary dwarfs super fast the keepers are the way to go! They also work great for a sorcerer build where you can unlock all of the special books and use them to deal massive damage. 

The Dragon: If you are into burning your friends to bits, playing as the dragon is the way to go! The dragon will be playing event cards from their hand to increase their health and complete goals so they use it to unleash special abilities into the board!

Play Online

Our digital game is runs itself smoothly so it's comfortable for you to try it at your own pace! Just make sure to select the difficulty for the desired challenge and read all the helpful tips (or maybe even skim our WIP rulebook online) so you don't get lost. And remember to pay attention to resolving the events to avoid fire to spread too quickly! For each gem you use to forge you discards an event of the matching gem type and recover one hp! 

The first scenario has been available online for less than a week and we already have over 360 hours of Flame & Forge recorded, which is amazing specially if we consider you can play a true solo game in just under 15 minutes! 

All the data and questions from the online plays will help us with final balancing and ironing out details before we print the tabletop game so by playing the game you will be helping us a lot!
