We are absolutely thrilled that you would consider joining our creative journey. My name is Zac, and my wife's name is Lily. Together, we make Zily.
I am a physical therapist, and my wife is a social worker (among many other things). We both love playing games!
I recently delved into my passion for game design following a season of loss. Cancer claimed my mother's life in late 2022, making me drastically rethink my pursuits in life. Her death reminded me that life is too short not to try something you love.
This is our first game and is our ground zero Kickstarter. We are building our brand from the ground up! You can check out our website and subscribe to our email list here.
Shipping
Our shipping table on Kickstarter is no longer accurate due to fewer international backers than anticipated. All shipping, VAT, and applicable taxes will be applied through Hive. Below are our current (subsidized) shipping estimates:

- The cards and components included in this project were meticulously created by multiple talented human artists and graphic designers collaborating and experimenting with AI. Midjourney, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign were the major platforms used in the lengthy design process. No card content is solely the result of AI generation, and the final product is a celebration of both human talent and the technological advances available to help small creators put forth their big ideas.

When Will Zily Deliver? An Unexpected Surprise!

First things first... Game delivery is still on track with our expected timeline:
However, our baby wants to be delivered sooner than expected...
Lily's water broke on Monday at 33 weeks. Now we are having our Babymoon at the hospital until the baby comes😊
Baby girl wants to get out! Since the baby is early, there is a good chance she will need a nice stay at the NICU.
Thankfully we have a nice view!
Me trying to figure out the best shipping options and set up our pledge manager for Escape Master in our nice "hotel" room.
What does this mean?
Lily may give birth naturally in the next few days, but if not, they will have to induce her. Due to the unpredictable nature of the circumstance, I may not get the pledge manager open until early November depending on what happens.
This will only affect when you will be able to update your shipping information and fill out our survey. It should not affect our manufacturing timeline. It's been a bit of a whirlwind! Thank you for understanding.
What will be the shipping cost?
As stated on our Kickstarter page, shipping costs and taxes will be calculated and charged separately through our pledge manager. That is why I have been working to find the best shipping prices 😉.
We have a nice table estimating shipping costs on our Kickstarter page, which you may have seen already. Unfortunately, those estimates are no longer accurate. We were planning to use a hub based in the UK, but we got significantly fewer backers in the UK and EU than we anticipated. Therefore, that hub is no longer the best option for us and our backers.
Currently I am exploring hubs in the US (where most of our backers reside) and what shipping costs directly from China may look like.
Due to rising shipping prices, especially from China and the far east, and our international backers being fewer and more spread out than we anticipated, shipping will likely be higher than we first estimated. Because of this we plan to subsidize shipping to make it more affordable. Subsidies will primarily be given to our international backers who were anticipating much lower costs based on our UK hub rates. However, even with subsidized shipping, the final balance may be more than you expected. For that, we apologize. We would love to subsidize shipping more, but absorbing too much shipping costs could sink our campaign. In the future, we may increase the upfront cost of our games and apply a good chunk of that toward shipping costs because it can be a shock to see shipping costs nearly as much as the game!
SO WHAT'S IT GOING TO BE? So far the best quotes I have received put shipping for US backers around $10-$15 and for international backers around $15-$30 using DDP (direct with duty paid). I am currently trying to see if I can find rates cheaper than that.
On the bright side, shipping costs will not increase if your order includes an expansion. Our game is so light, adding a little more weight won't change anything.
