Dead Piety: a brutal Norse Mork Borg RPG scenario
Dead Piety is a 4-8 hour Mörk Borg adventure, delving into the center of the world tree, where a vile rot has taken root.
“For generations, your people, the Midgardians, have spoken to the gods directly through the use of roots of the World Tree. Recently, the Midgardian king made an alliance with the leechmen of Gneth’leyah to maintain peace and gain power. Slowly, they built their churches, spreading their Gothic architecture like a plague. But you didn’t care as long as you could maintain your own prayers to the true gods. Recently, however, it seems your words of faith have been falling on deaf ears. When you pray for good harvests, locusts swarm your fields. When you pray for good winds, your ships are dashed against the rocks. Something must be wrong in the heavens, and you must go to the world tree to find out what is cursing your land, and cleanse this foul rot.”
Dead Piety: Den of the Root Eater is a roughly 56-page booklet, featuring the scenario "Den of the Root Eater." The scenario is built for 4-8 hours of brutal, religious, body-horror fun for 2-7 players. It includes 7 playable characters, and now thanks to stretch goals, includes 17 monstrous enemies that can be used in any Mörk Borg adventure.
Preview Spreads!
This booklet is jam-packed with illustrations from many different artists. Below are a couple of random spreads from pages of the book. We are proud to say there is NO AI used in this book; everything's brought to you through the blood, sweat, and tears of humans with actual souls.
As part of this Kickstarter, we'll also be including a Kickstarter-exclusive two-color art print, designed by Sarah Ruyle, as an optional tier. Every print will be numbered and sent along with the booklet.
Premade Characters!
The scenario comes with six premade characters for players to choose from, as well as a seventh that may be encountered later in the adventure, in case someone meets their bloody end. Each character comes with their own unique art, abilities, and backstory, serving as hooks to draw players into the adventure.
Character sheets will be printable as PDFs and have scannable versions within the book.
Monsters!
Each monster in this booklet features its own unique moveset, ensuring combat stays fresh and dynamic. The book comes with 8 monsters, with additional monsters being reachable via stretch goals.
Below, I've included preview rules for the Cattle of Acanthob, one of the monsters that will be included in the book.

Stretch Goals!
Each goal reached will be added directly into the book so everyone can enjoy these fiendish beasts. Funding will go towards the cost of printing additional pages, as well as compensation for the artists.
