Dark Tales by Jonathan Kershaw - Special Vinyl Edition

New Album - At Last!!

Finally, "Dark Tales", the new album, is on the brink of completion.musically anyway! Hopefully, through this kickstarter we can create the physical version I always dreamed it would be - a 12" vinyl artbook. 

The impressive list of musicians I have involved with the album includes Paul Bielatowicz (Carl Palmer - ELP Legacy), Joe Deninzon (Kansas, Stratospheerius), Simon Fitzpatrick (also, Carl Palmer - ELP Legacy), Graham Noon (Tim Vine, Blue Zoo) and I'm not finished yet... 

The songs on the new album maintain the Celtic folk themes that were prevalent on the first album (Bizarre Tales) but now have been injected with extra depth and energy with more rock and orchestral feels. Many of the songs tell dark, Brothers Grimm-esque fairytales each of which is beautifully illustrated in the special edition vinyl book with specially commissioned artwork from several incredible artists.
Backstory

The album was first started over five years ago, sat in the back of the van with a guitar trying to re-ignite those creative juices. At the time I was struggling to find those ideas had no idea specific plan for what this album would be.  But slowly I started formulating some ideas and quickly realised that I didn't want to be constrained by the boundaries of Celtic folk as I had been on "Bizarre Tales". So the new material not only maintained it's traditional ssense but incorporates far more elements of rock and classical styles.

In the studio, the songs are complete but constantly going through little alterations and (hopefully!) improvements ready to be mastered later in September. 

2x 12" vinyl discs in a hardback book format complete with individually commisioned artwork for every song. The discs will be on 140gsm, patterned vinyl (the patterning itself wiil be determined during the campaign).
