STORY

THE OVERFLOW ERA
The world did not end with war.
It ended with nonsense.
The Overflow — ten minutes of total system corruption that permanently infected reality itself.

Every electronic object on Earth malfunctioned simultaneously in impossible ways.
ATMs printed jokes instead of money.
Billboards argued with pedestrians.

Most people laughed.
Until the creatures appeared.

First sightings.

Bestiaries are not robots.
Robots follow instructions.
Bestiaries follow impulses.

They do not obey biological laws.
Inside every creature exists something researchers call a Core Glitch — a compressed knot of unstable energy formed during The Overflow. The Core Glitch constantly rewrites the creature’s body according to emotion and surrounding stimuli. This means Bestiaries are wildly unpredictable.

Here are the main crews of these creatures, each represented by its own dedicated deck of playing cards:

• The Buzzborn — creatures born from hums, frequencies, and electrical resonance.
• The Thoughtleaks — living fragments of escaped thoughts, dreams, memories, and unfinished ideas.
• The Sleepwalkers — mysterious entities that seem to have wandered out of dreams and into reality.
• The Shocklings — mischievous little electrical creatures fueled by sparks, chaos, and bad decisions.

Shocklings are among the smallest Bestiaries ever documented. No larger than a human hand, they are bundles of living electricity wrapped in scraps of wire and pure enthusiasm. Most are harmless individually.

The problem is that Shocklings never travel alone. Tiny Problems. Massive Consequences.

The Buzzborn — creatures born from hums, frequencies, and electrical resonance.

During The Overflow, thousands of electrical transformers, radio towers, power stations, and forgotten communication networks began producing the same impossible frequency.When the sound disappeared, the Buzzborn appeared.

They travel through power lines, abandoned substations, and underground cable tunnels.

Each card is fully illustrated and filled to the brim with mischief, features whimsical hand-illustrated art, depicting anthropomorphised creatures.

The Thoughtleaks — living fragments of escaped thoughts, dreams, memories, and unfinished ideas.

During The Overflow, billions of human thoughts briefly became visible to reality.The strongest fears, obsessions, daydreams, forgotten memories, and unfinished ideas condensed into living creatures.These became the Thoughtleaks.

Each one carries fragments of human imagination inside its body.

The Sleepwalkers — mysterious entities that seem to have wandered out of dreams and into reality.

The Sleepwalkers appeared also after The Overflow.When the lights returned, thousands of strange footprints were discovered in places no creature could have reached.The Sleepwalkers seem to exist halfway between dreams and reality.They rarely speak.

When they do, they often describe events that have not happened yet.
