What Are Beevih Play Tiles? 

Beevih Play Tiles are a new kind of toy – the world’s first picture-construction tiles that are modular, beautifully illustrated and designed for open-ended, small-world play.

With Beevih's simple yet clever tile design, children can independently connect the illustrated tiles in any direction to create their own imagined landscapes. A magical forest, a cosy village, an unexplored wilderness, or anything else from their imagination.

Why are Beevih Play Tiles Special?

The idea for Beevih didn't come from a corporate boardroom or trends report. It began with a parent (me!) who wanted something different for his child. Something screen-free. Something beautifully made. Something simple that would nurture imagination instead of replacing it with battery-powered entertainment. 

Over two years of prototyping and testing went into getting every tiny detail just right, from the hand-drawn illustrations to the way each tile connects. The result is a unique, flexible play system that inspires creativity, storytelling, and independent play.

Beevih's slide-to-connect mechanism allows your child to build elaborate landscapes with ease and independence. 

Infinitely Flexible, Infinitely Buildable

No “right way” up. No positive or negative puzzle pieces. Every tile works with every other tile. Your child can slide, rotate, flip and join pieces on any side, in any direction with total freedom. Small scenes, big worlds, long narrow pathways – the system grows to suit your child's imagination.

Built to Stay Together

Beevih tiles slide-lock into place, creating a stable play surface that won't drift apart mid-play. Children can push, pull, stomp, drive cars, or build blocks on them and the tiles will stay connected.

Erasable Finish (Draw, Wipe, Repeat)

Every tile has a wipe-clean surface that works with erasable markers. Your child can doodle, decorate, add to, and change their worlds over and over again.

Every tile is illustrated by a real human artist, stroke by stroke, colour by colour, with attention to texture, detail, and playability. Beevih's whimsical illustrations are designed to gently invite children into creative play.

 Recyclable, Remouldable, Responsible

Beevih tiles are made with recycled TPU. This is a deliberate environmental choice, as TPU is tough enough for years of play. Yet unlike silicone (which may be the most comparable material), it can be easily recycled and given a new life.
 

How Safe Are Beevih Play Tiles?

Beevih is designed for wonder, but built for safety. Every choice I make begins with one simple question: “Do I feel completely comfortable giving this to my own children?”

For my own peace of mind, I have rigorously tested and passed the international toy-safety standards (EN71 and AS/NZS ISO 8124). This is what it means in real life:

Child-safe Material

Beevih tiles are made from premium TPU that is soft and gentle on little hands. BPA-free, phthalate-free, and PVC-free.  

Magnet-free

Magnets can be dangerous, so I skipped it altogether. Everything holds together through clever design, not tiny magnets that can come off.

No Small or Loose Parts

Nothing comes apart, nothing can snap off. Each tile is a solid, sturdy form that is impossible to swallow.

Smooth, Rounded Edges

Every edge has been softened and rounded to feel soft, smooth, and gentle. No sharp corners, no rough spots.

Hygienic and Easy-clean

Beevih tile surface is naturally resistant to grime and simple to wipe down – perfect for sticky hands and outdoor play.

Extended Set

Go deeper into the Beevih world with the Extended Set, which packs in extra tiles and unlocks the vibrant, much-requested Beach theme.

Custom Set 

This exclusive pledge includes the full Extended Set PLUS one unique, double-sided tile based on a concept submitted by you! Our designer will work with your input to bring your custom vision to life.

Why is Beevih Launching on Kickstarter?

I know Kickstarter isn't the usual, easy "add to cart" experience that many parents are used to. I fully understand the preference for quick delivery. But here is why I am starting here.

Beevih started as a passion project built around child-led play, not a race to commercialise – designed during nap times, tested by my own children, and refined through real play rather than corporate focus groups or investor pressure. Launching on Kickstarter allows me to bring this to life without compromising my values or passion.

Behind the Scene

Beevih started as a nap-time passion project in our playroom. I wanted a toy that gave my children beautiful backdrops for their little figurines, animals, cars and pegs – something as easy to build as train tracks, but not limited to linear constructions.

Play rugs were too static, and building blocks were too fiddly for my three-year-old to build anything big.

So I created hexagons tiles with drawings on them, for my children to connect together and build into their own landscapes. What I lacked in experience, I made up for with relentless rounds of testing and refinement. My children became my testers – sampling, breaking, rebuilding, and teaching me what worked and what didn't.

After two years of trial-and-error, Beevih is the result: an open-ended, illustration-rich and modular toy created by a parent, refined through play, and built for imagination.

I did not plan to include stretch goals, but the community’s enthusiasm changed that. So halfway through the campaign, I introduced a small set of stretch goals. Beevih ships worldwide.

To keep costs fair, shipping will be charged after the campaign ends, in the pledge manager. That means I can confirm final product quantity, secure the best carrier rates, and pass any savings directly to you, instead of using upfront guesswork with inflated "just-in-case" charges.
